You Don’t Have Bad Breath Halitosis, Do You?

By Landon Corton | October 17, 2009

If you have ever sat down next to someone and after striking up a conversation you realize that they have bad breath halitosis. Leaving just isn’t an option so you have to sit through the horrible smell. In a situation like this what options do you have? Do you confront the smell head on with mints and spray? Do you just walk away?

When you are talking to someone halitosis or bad breath is quick way to turn someone away. You are putting the that person you are talking to through pain and its impossible to pay attention to what is being said. It’s a huge disaster because with every breath it gets worse. This is absolutely something that shouldn’t ruin your day nor should it ruin anyone else’s day either. You really should get rid of your bad breath because I know you don’t want it. Hopefully this advice I am about to give you is helpful in keeping your breath smelling clean and fresh.

Start out by brushing your tongue every time you brush your teeth. If you don’t brush your teeth, start there. When you are out or just eat something that has a strong smell or odor, garlic and onions are great examples, do everyone a favor and pull out some mouthwash or toothbrush and get to work. The chemicals of your body together with the odor of the food combine to produce a foul smell that most people can’t stand.

When you eat meat it can be a huge problem for those people around you. The meat sticks between the teeth and then the acid in your mouth combines with the meat to produce a foul smell. Flossing or using a tooth pick will help eliminate the foul odor produced if you don’t.

Try to avoid dry mouth by drinking lots of water, not coffee or soda, but water. Bad breath halitosis is brought on by dry mouth so the more water the better. Milk, soda, tea and coffee need to be flushed out of your mouth shortly after being consumed or the will produce acids that will promote bad breath halitosis.

See your dentist. He can help you and your cavity which also results in bad breath halitosis. You will get pearly whites and strong teeth too. This is the start of a perfect smile and a whole new you.

If you focus on these simple little changes and you will no longer have to battle your bad breath halitosis. You will get your smile back and the next time someone sits next to you, you can actually have a conversation without thinking about your breath.
